You need to stop working on your project to exit a building, or to leave on a road. The option is not available while you are engaged in a project.
The wiki can be helpful for things like this, and many topics are already discussed in this forum. There are usually people in the irc chans who can answer questions for you as well. Try:

BUG: Incorrect name of animal ('%3CCANTR+REPLACE+NAME%3Danimal_scarab_o%3E' instead of 'skarabeusz')
Sorry for inaccurate translation from Polish to English of displayed messages. Actually I don't have any English chars.
Preconditions:
Player uses Polish language.
Character is in location where can find a dead body. Dead person was killed by scarab.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Click on 'Obiekty' (objects) button and wait for page reload (PR)
2) Click on 'Przeszukaj ciało' (search this body) button and wait for PR
Expected outcome:
Message "To ciało nie wygląda na starsze niż pół roku. Wygląda na to że tę osobę zabiło zwierzę - skarabeusz." (This body doesn't seem to be older than a half year. It seems that this person was killed by an animal - scarab) is displayed.
Actual outcome:
Message "To ciało nie wygląda na starsze niż pół roku. Wygląda na to że tę osobę zabiło zwierzę - %3CCANTR+REPLACE+NAME%3Danimal_scarab_o%3E." is displayed.
Reproducible: every time
Severity: very low
Other info:
Probably, this problem may occur in other languages.

It also occurs in Finnish and Swedish. I think it occurs in all languages.

Person A was dragging Person B inside of a building, so I dragged person A out and into another building. Now i'm trying to drag person b, but it says I can't because person A is still dragging despite person A not being in the same location. Any advice?

Yeah I tried that, it was at 115%...nothing. I ended up killing the person so w/e.

I'm trying to use a bone needle to make a fur bikini top. I have already added fur to the project. However, when I click to add the needle to the project, I get a screen with an empty drop-down box, a Continue button, and a link to the out of character departments page, which takes me out of the game.
Since there's nothing to select in the drop-down box, clicking Continue just gives me the same page again. So, two issues:
1-I can't use bone needle to manufacture fur bikini top.
2-It'd be nice to have some kind of back button to back out of a page like this.

You do not need to add tools to projects. Just have them in inventory while working on projects.

Hah, that gives away who your character is. But don't worry, I was confused about the exact same thing as a newbie.

There have been several times lately that my build menu pops up with only the back button. I am once again unable to start any projects

Do you have Java disabled in your account settings? I don't remember who said that was related..
