I've noticed that sometimes when you update names it doesn't work. But when I try the second time, then it works.

I've noticed If I use single quotes when renaming it doesn't work, but it did before the server change, if it's at all related.

Yup, seems that way, only when I put an single quote (apostrophe) does the rename not work. Annoying when some charries have that in their name. I actually used them to describe charries, i.e. 'thief' etc.

I name vaguely familiar people like "X's bf", "X's friend" and so on. But since that don't work I just gotta skip the apostrophy.

I occasionally do that when there's loads of men/women in their twenties who are active but don't introduce themselves. So I start at 'A' and work from there.

This is a problem related to HTML, or some technical bull like that.

Usually, when you use a single quote, a / is placed within the field, to comment out that quote... so...

Rick O'Shea becomes Rick O'/Shea

I think perhaps some fixing was done on this situation to have single quotes actually produce only single quotes, however, perhaps it is now broken...

I remember when I was naming my character Re'jin K'Maz, he came up as Re'/jin K'/Maz, but renaming him fixed it. Oddly enough, it no longer seems to work.

I m not tech support so I don t know how they do things but I can tell you that within databases, the apostrophe has a special meaning and it can cause lots of problems. For example, someone malicious could in theory delete everything from the database, or worse, gain access to it and change the data held there.

I hope I've kept this vague enough to not help anyone who doesn t already know how to do this.
