help

Postby Cherize » Wed Sep 29, 2004 10:34 pm

During turn 953-4 someone hacked my account. Is there anyway to tell who it was? They only messed with one character in Karnon Forest, so I think it was an instance of getting someone else's account when you sign on.

Worst part was they typed and acted like a 12 year old.

*totally pissed*

It is not possible to hack an account or so I have been told but it has happened in the past where for some reason or another accounts changed. It happened to me in my early years. I was playing my characters and suddenly I ended up in someone else's account. I quickly signed off and reported it. This could be the same situation but if you feel like someone has gotten into your account using another method then you might want to change your password and send an e-mail to the Programming Department right away.

I hope that helps.

I can't imagine anyone getting my password, so maybe hacked was the wrong choice of words. I do think it was one of those times when my account came up when someone else signed on. Which is even more disappointing in that a player would take advantage of this situation.

There's no shotgun attack security, as far as I know...if I had someones ID, I'm sure I could easily make a program to break their password. I'd never do that...but if I could, someone else could better.

No, that wasn't me spouting all that jibberish. I'm still not sure what half of it says.

Except the part where someone looked up my skirt. But you wouldn't know anything about that would you?

Time to break out the whip.

Oh wel i guess i didnt need to say those things ooc with nick just now.. :P

I said basically the same thing rkl said i had someone get into my account and use several of my characters, one character the person would repeatedly set to 0% speed while he was traveling, another the person would answer small questions using... proper grammer. Something you all know i dont really care about.

Well actually you could 'hack' someone's account if you were to find out their id then just set up a program to go through a list of words and wait for it to geuss their password, I know there are such programs out there. So it is possible, I don't know if anyone would want to do that to you though.
