Vanishing events

One of my characters said something. I know I said it because every time I checked the character, I made sure I had. I'm pretty sure it wasn't more than 2 days ago, and I've still got earlier events visible. But the event is very thoroughly not on my events page anymore...
The events 949-8 through 950-3 seem to be missing. He was on a boat leaving port, so I can tell. My other characters seem to have a gap in the same place...though it isn't so clear, in a town.
