Whats going on there? Is this a bug, or a 'feature' of roads? Shouldn't there be some way to recover the items?

The body should end up at one of the destinations of the road. You can't use objects, take objects, give objects to others when on a road, so people who die on roads end up off the road.

Thanks InsaneIrony! That makes sense. So is there any way of telling which end it will be? Is it the one closest at the time of death, the destination/source?

I ask since roads are quite long and going to both ends could take a while. Also, all the stuff mgiht get stolen again if it isn't the end with trustworthy people at! But as far as I know, there isn't an easy way to tell where abouts on the road the death happened, just where that person was in relation to me (which in this situation, doesn't help)

I'm quite sure it is the departure place.
