Delicate situation...need help (about the CR)

I got two characters in the same location, since they both searched for a valuable resource and was directed to the same place.

One was leading a small expedition to gather the resource, but he ended up in verbal fight with his "helper" and she walked off. Since he needs to bring as much of this resource home as possible he would like to ask other people if they want to take the "helpers" place.

The only other person there is my other character.
He in turn did something that makes him very interested in leaving the region for a while and would be very interested in joining the expedition if given the chance.

The problem is obvious, since your characters aren't supposed to cooperate. But in this case it would be very unnatural for the expedition leader not to ask my other character if he wanted to work for him, bringing the resource home.

So what comes first?
Acting naturally or making sure to keep your characters as separated as possible?

Acting as if the 2nd char there wasn't yours ofcourse.
But before you let them coorperate, be sure to ask yourself: "is this really what this char would have done if it weren't my char?

I've had my chars co-orperate sometimes, but after making sure there was is alternative. Since your chars are the only ones there the is no alternative. But again, take great care and be sure it's what your chars would have done if the other one was a stranger, and dont fool yourself into thinking so. :P

I'd like to borrow a quote from Nike, "Just do it"

Yeah, that's just the thing. It fits them both so very perfectly.

What are you waiting for then?

And please change your quote to match my edit. I usually don't check my posts for mistakes or typo's, nor do I edit them when I re-read my postsand finding some, but having them quoted is just too much. :P

I think I will wait for an "official" response before I take action just to be on the safe side :)

And the quote will remain as it is :P
