Crossbow accuracy

In the past two days, a thief has drawn 4 crossbow shots. All four shots have missed.
Is this a bug, a freak of chance, or a reasonably probable event? My character is wondering whether it is possible to hit with a crossbow at all.

Very possible to hit with a crossbow, its just chance that you missed.

but suppose there's a 1 in 3 chance of missing. the chances of missing 4 times in a row would be 1 out of 81. that's pretty unlikely, although obviously not impossible.

THats funny, I have done nothing but miss recently. Ha ha and I have heard others complaining about missing a lot, I geuss as of recently the game favors theives

The new combat system was designed to give more balance to fighting, so I suspect that it is quite intentional that the crossbow misses as frequently as it does. However, I'll ask those who worked on the combat system to double check that the chance of missing is what they in fact intended, just to be on the safe side.

Okay, the chance for crossbows to miss is not a boo boo, and any "problem" related to its accuracy is more a matter of player perception than anything else. I hope that was cryptic enough
