Forum Issues

Although this isn't "Cantr" related, really, it's Forum issues. So it goes here. Ha.

Okay, Adminstrators, or anyone familiar with phpBB version 2.0.5, tell me:

Why, in the odd instance, do I not receieve the Topic Notification Replies? My e-mail does not block them, delete them, nor are they marked as spam. I am sure that the topics are marked to be watched, I'm not an idiot :P - They just don't get sent, so I'm forced to check the boards now and again to see if there are replies, and 20% of the time, there are, and I wasn't notified. Some problem that's known? In the code? Or, was I high on coffee and it really wasn't checked to be notified (But in honesty, it can't be this. I make sure every time :P)

Maybe Jos feels like addressing your problems when he returns, Anthony. I don't, sorry. :) I rather invest my energy to work on Cantr.

Errr. Well, it -has- to be my e-mail. I was changing some things in the database, and I didn't receive the 'data' e-mails at all. I'm gonna have to scrounge around to see why they're not appearing anymore...

It's strange. Spam goes to the Bulk folder, Cantr things go to my Cantr folder, everything else to the Inbox. It doesn't appear in any of those folders, OR my trash... it's... weird...

(Plus, I didn't even get notified that this was replied to. I haven't gotten any more notification e-mails >.<)

Strange......

Does day reports come instantly after you request them?

Last time I got mine it was instant, now its already 5- 10 minute, and still waiting.

I kind of forgot if my char I just made was born in that place or arrived there from another place. and was wondering where my mushrooms came from, I amm guessing I got them myself. I need my report!

I don't see how this is related to forum problems.

I checked the day reports, though, and mine arrived almost instantly. Just be patient. If your report should indeed not arrive, let me know by tomorrow, and I'll give you another request button.

For now, I don't see any problems on our end.

Anthony - is there any reason your account might have bounced the e-mail? Some automatic mailing apps have a built-in trigger to stop sending mail if they get a couple of bounces back from the server.

Maybe try re-entering/"changing" your e-mail account on the server and see if it starts it up again?

Actually, no. It's all fixed now, I think.

Yahoo! Mail has been updated recently, and I noticed that it wasn't just Cantr e-mails not getting through. Anything I had on a filter wasn't getting through, they were just "dissapearing", news letters and the like. I deleted all my filters when I left for my exam, and came back to find ALL the lost e-mails have found themselves in my Inbox.

I don't know why it was doing that, really, but now I'm afraid of putting on another filter, encase is was the filter system that wasn't working (Or isn't, currently)

(There's also the possibility it wasn't the filter, and they were just stuck in midair to appear later on their own? I really have no idea what happened. I'm going to change something in the database, see if I get it, and if I do, I'll reapply my filter and change it again. If it pops up in my Cantr folder, then all is fine - if it doesn't appear after the filter change, then I'm going to send in a message to Yahoo! Support. And, if I don't receive one at all, then it's something else... I'll post when I figure it out...)

I thank everyone that gave their input into figuring out what was wrong, your help and brainstorming was most appreciated.

And, Thomas, to clarity - it was Forum Problems at the start, I didn't even think about how I never received the data e-mails from database editing until I made that reply post. So, when I originally wrote the post, it had to do with the Forum :P

Oh, sorry. I thought you were referring to my reply about not getting the data e-mails either. My mistake.

In any case, I just sent myself two day reports. One without the filter, and one with. They both worked fine, and came in a few seconds after requesting the report.

So, obviously, it had to be a Yahoo! Mail problem - whatever it may be, I may never know. But it seems to be working. It better not do it again...
