I am in need of building a herb garden in my location (Kroi on the sea on Rus/Omeo island) and whenever I try to build one (either versions of the herb garden) in my location I get an error that says that the place is not grasslands nor plains. It does borders a sea if that helps but it has grass too, so therefore it should be a grassland?

Is it a bug or did I miss something?

It's not a grassland if it doesn't say grassland. I'm guessing it's probably hills.

What Seko said... you can see what type of location you're in, at the top of the character page. It's written behind the location name.

Everyday you learn something new. I thought you could build herb garden in any place apart from forests and mountains. Well butter my biscuits, all my plans are in ruins

If you suggest it, there's always a chance

I'm not sure on reasonings for the current placings, though, so I don't know how much chance exactly

There are alternatives to herb gardens that you can build, for example the eathenware windowbox. The gardens are only suitable for grasslands and plains.
