So.. I'm not sure if I should be posting here or actually directly contacting the programming department, but I'd appreciate someone from the back end of the game to either assist me or offer some advice.
I have a character that meticulously keeps notes, literally double digit pages of words if you were to put it into a word document. His journal of his first 20 days that I have been writing in almost daily has suddenly cleared its contents. There is nothing there; the title of the note remains in tact though. I have no idea why all of the note's contents cannot be seen anymore? It's just blank now and I absolutely did not delete all that work. Like an idiot, I never saved a backup externally from the game. It was all written while the character was awake. I only realized the blank note today.
I was hoping maybe someone in programming with access to the server's backup system could go through the archives (in case of a rollback is needed) to pull up the document for me? Or is there some sort of coding that is not allowing me to view that particular note?
I'd greatly appreciate it if there is something that can be done to retrieve that note - it was, literally, a lot of work. And, if I am SOL then let me know as well...
Thanks.

Re: Actively Used Note - Contents Suddenly Blank
Sometimes the contents of a note still remain in one column after they are wiped from another one. I could check the database if you pm me the name of the note (and preferably also the character holding it, as there might be several notes with the same title). There's a limit for length but reaching it shouldn't destroy the contents of the note, only truncate the end of it. I might not be online as much as usual since I'm at my parents, though.
Edit: I forgot I don't have database access here, so maybe someone else could take a look?

I am also having limited access to things for a few days (limited to my cell phone at the moment). I did notify Greek about this yesterday though, hopefully he can have a look or I will on Thursday.

Problem solved.
But, please, PLEASE, make sure you backup your most important notes (preferably on your local HDD or stuff like google docs). Getting anything from backup is time consuming and there's no guarantee I'll be willing to do it another time

You're the best, Greek! Thank you! I definitely will be backing up all documents from now on.
