Resting furniture

Question: Why does a bed provide so much more rest than a feather bed? I was surprised by this. A couch actually provides more rest than a feather bed, which seems odd given the amount of work required for the feather bed.

Edit: I guess I figured it out. The feather bed doesn't really require the amount of resources and tools, although the feathers might take a while.

So... never mind. :P

The feather bed is actually a feather sleeping pad. It's not elevated from the ground, so it's probably harder. Also it uses hemp cloth, which is coarser than cotton.
