How is it that if animals don't travel, that they do disappear I mean already two and they don't get hunted. Yes I know die of old age but how long do they life if 2 are away in such a short moment.

Just an observaton, not a fact: If you leave about 5 of them, they seem to reproduce faster than they die off.

My question still stands: Why do animals die so fast of old age?

The longest lifespan is about 101 days. The less animals you have, the lower the odds of more spawning. It's just pure chance that two happened to die at the same time.

Island: Fu
Location: Eldorado

Few months ago there was many rhinos. My character still have a tusk from they. But, I do not seen any rhino until long weeks. I am sure, that I not killed all of population ;)

So, why they disappear?

I didn't do it! It's possible that there are more unknown bugs in the animal script.

Going back to Arenti's original concern about animal reproduction, I've been studying the animal populations in the two towns I've been in on K Isle (primarily) as well as the other towns my chars have settled in. The only trend I've observed in all locations after the population explosion, even with minimal hunting, is decline. Could there be a bug with the animal reproduction script?

I have a character on Fu, who regularly moves between four locations. There were zero animals when he arrived several years ago; there are zero animals now. Nobody else is in the area, so the animals were not hunted to extinction.

If you spend your time amongst four locations, then how would you know what's going on in the other three locations when you're only in one? :)

I believe it is mentioned that animal migration is turned off, which means if you hunt an animal into extinction in one location, it will not come back in that location. So if the animals are already completely gone in that location, then how could you expect there to be more when you return to the locations several years later?

More than a month ago there was an ingame announcement about animals (re)placement. I don't know if it is already finished...

1) There are tons of bugs in the animals script
2) I broke the tool that I used to repopulate the animals, and unless it's fixed, large islands won't be getting restocked
3) Animal migration is turned off, so if you kill the last animal or it dies of old age, you're SOL.
4) Animals in places with no characters were removed due to server restrictions. If characters moved into those areas since, they may or may not be replaced if the animal tool is fixed.

But they breed?

They're supposed to breed. The animal script is FUBAR, so I can't guarantee anything is working as it should.

He did not hunt animals to extinction. He arrived at this part of Fu several years ago. There were no people and no animals. He travelled to a nearby location. There were no people and no animals. He travelled to another nearby location. There were no people and no animals. He travelled to another nearby location. There were no people and no animals.

Several years have now passed. No animals have appeared at any of those locations (which he visits regularly to gather resources).
