There is no German island. And there is no Spanish island either. There's an island with Germans and Spanish on it, though. You'll have to deal with that, I'm afraid.

Awesome! I can practice my Spanish while learning German. I think we all know where I'll be spawning a char soon :P

Mi amigo who speaks spanish was convinced by me to try the game, but since there were too few chars, he left it. =C

thinking about it i do not really have a problem with it since i speak abit of german too.
The real problem is that it encourages people to speak in english....

Well, what is the point of giving the people the chance to choose a language if they need to talk another one to get on with everyday life?

Do you really not see a point to it, or are you just trying to keep arguing?

If the first holds, then I will gladly explain to you, that you certainly need a minimum number of characters in Cantr to get somewhere, and the spanish are a minority. Teaming them up with other languages should be appreciated, rather than frowned upon.

If the latter is true, please stop. My first reply was just meant to answer your question. It was not really meant to open a discussion.

Apart from that, talking english is not allowed, if you started a spanish or a german character. They only know their own language. If they get taught a different language by another character, it's a different thing.

I see what he means. Instead of people talking spanish and german, people are speaking english cuz it's a language they both know?

I just started a German character. It's...interesting, I suppose. I've met Spanish and German people, and there's a note on the ground in Dutch. I'm going to need to bookmark babelfish, though. My German vocab isn't that good cantr-wise.

If you're a spanish char, and you're surrounded by Germans, then I guess you're screwed, now aren't you? Deal with it and move on.

Jeez you guys are some cold f***s.

The more positive way to say it is. If you get a whole lot of people that want to play in spanish a second spanish island might be built.

LOL, yeah we Dutchman are a nice bunch, no? :)

Other than that, I think it is actually quite fun to play the problems of communication when you don't speak the language of many people around you. And if more people apply with Spanish characters, there are soon enough large enough groups to play with. And it should be kind of fun to have a city in one language, with a large minority in another. Like real ethnic politics :) ... Try to see the fun roleplaying challenge of it, instead of just switching to English :) ...
