Are there restrictions on how many wooden extensions can be built on cottages or other wooden extensions, or is it unlimited? I'm planning on building something and I'd like to make it rather grand if possible.

I think there're no restrictions, although I'm not sure if the weight of the extensions doesn't count towards filling of the place it's built in...
anyone...?
(also moving it to general support forum)

There is a limit on buildings number in location, depending on area type.
There is a limit of 20 extenisons/rooms directly attached to a single room, regardless building type.

I think someone (was it Doug) reported having a building with a very large amount of rooms that weren't nested, so has it been confirmed that the limit actually works? Earlier it was said that there was a limit on how many buildings an outdoors location can have but that it never worked due to a bug and when the bug was noticed, the limit couldn't be turned on anymore because so many towns had already gone past it.

You say "There is a limit of 20 extenisons/rooms directly attached to a single room, regardless building type.", does that mean that you can only have 21 rooms in all, or that you can build 20 rooms onto each extension as well?

20 per each extension. But as Seko said the limit probably isn't working.
