Refresh not working in Cantr?

Postby chase02 » Fri May 01, 2009 2:12 am

So for about a month now it seems the refresh code has stopped working in Cantr - e.g. you are on the events page, idle for 5 minutes and nothing updates - you need to f5 or click Events to view the events after that time.

I've asked others and it isn't just me.. was this turned off for a reason? It makes the game so much more frustrating!

It does seem broke, yes, but then in it's history, it's been broken more than it's worked. Since it's been broken, however, I can honestly say I haven't had any problems with getting booted to red screens when talking, etc. It's a good trade off, let's leave it broken.

It is broken and has been since the move to the new server. Possibly related to the new php version, or a location change of something.

I've never been booted when talking I must say, unless fiddling with multiple tabs and such. Doing that and having another tab refresh first does what you describe Doug. It has nothing really to do with the refresh as such, it's the parameter obfuscation that's buggy. Possibly it times out at refresh and the link is no longer valid.
This might be a good thing for a new ProgD member to look at. *wink wink, nudge nudge*

In fact i've noticed the lack of being booted back to the player page now that you mention it. If refresh is the cause, then leave it broken i say!

Er....Cantr had an auto refresh?
