8000 grams of steel = 80 days?

This smelting furnace has an 8000 gram steel project set up that takes 80 days. The project was set up in the year 808 so I'm figuring back then refining 100 grams of steel took 1 day. Is there anything that can be done to reset how long this project takes? PM me for the location of the project if you can help. Thanks.

If the iron's already been added to the project, IMO, this shouldn't be fixed. Back then, iron could be mined right from the ground, eliminating two steps from the process of steel production. I would think of it as refining a highly inferior grade of iron, so it would take much longer. Just my opinion.
