If you die travelling, where will your body end up? On the road or at the closest place?

You end up at the destination you're closest to. If you're more than half-way to a destination, you end up there. If you're less than half, you end up back where you started.

I believe Thomas said once that that was not necessarily the case.

Or maybe it was the other way around

When I killed thieves they and the stuff they stole returned to the city the left from and it was almost always at the end of the road.
Looks logical to me, cauz otherwise the belongings of one city, would wind up on the floor of another if the thief dies.

Doesn't look logical to me... cuz why would something go back to the city it came from? Why not to the closest? That is more logical imo.

It would be more logical ina IG kinda way.
If the thief would die, all the stuff would wind up in another city, and dus the city who owned the stuff would still not have their stuff back.
And if they were to take their stuff from the floor of the other city, the other city might think they are stealing, which can lead to a lot of frustration and stress lol.

Yes, you are right on that... but you are thinking wrong

.
It's hard to explain, but just think about it in another way then cantr. Of course, it's better to let it end up in the city it belonged to, but if you think 'normal', not thinking of all the negative things that will happen if you let it end up in the closest city, it's more logical to move something to the place that is the closest (and also more realistic).
But actually, they should let it end up on the road... that way you have something to do when traveling around

I agree with you on that one bout ending up on tha road. But then if you move a bit to far, you maybe can't find it anymore
