Boats

When you dock to a boat, enter it and then continue sailing, does it continue to sail or not? I'm not sure if it does. One of my characters has docked a boat to another, in the middle of the sea. But now I don't know if they're still sailing or not.
And another question - How many cabins can you build on a galleon?
Just two tiny, one medium or one large, or all four?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you dock to a boat, enter it and set speed and direction, of course it will start moving. If it was already moving then it will continue to do so until something interrupts it. If you mean that after entering the boat, you go back to your own boat, undock and start sailing again then the boat you docked to will continue to do what ever it was doing before you visited it. If you are in a boat that is docked to another boat and no one is in the other boat then that boat cannot continue moving because they need at least one person on board.
And you can build all the cabins.

It looks like Seko beat me too it, but I will reiterate. The "host boat" is what matters. All of the boats docked to the afore mentioned host boat are just added as weight to determine the speed of the host. Someone needs to be on the deck of the biggest boat, and the speed and direction is determined from there.
And as Seko mentioned, you can build all of the cabins and holds that are allowed on that boat type.

If the wiki is correct, you can build the following in a Galleon:
http://www.cantr.net/mwiki/index.php/Galleon
large cargo hold
large ship cabin
medium ship cabin
2 small ship cabins
This means that for each type of hold permitted you can build up to a certain number, and this doesn't affect the ability any other types of holds.
As for docking to a moving ship, I believe that the ship does continue to move, but I am not 100% sure. It is difficult to dock to a ship if it is moving unless you are very close, so I do not see any reason why the ship would stop.

I was talking about docking to a ship, entering it and just carrying the other boat with me. So that's possible, ok, thanks.
Also thanks for answering the other question everyone.

It stops. I tried it many times.
But my question is:
how can I built a smaller boat and dock it to a bigger one? (without help of another people)

You simply can't, unless the bigger boat is already undocked. Just hire somebody to undock the big boat and dock to it right after with your small boat. Or say "uh oh, I left my galleon unlocked, I sure hope no one steals it!" then wait until someone actually does. Dock in and kill them.

You can't. At least not without abandoning another boat. You could build your smaller boat and go looking for a big ship lost at sea, but I don't think that is the answer you were hoping for. Your best bet is to find someone, and pay them to dock the smaller boat (hopefully you offer them enough that they don't run off with your boat instead).
