I can't be certain, but couldn't this fall under the find out in game rule?

I don't think it should... since those things cannot be disassembled so the parts would be wasted if there couldn't be a link with several parts. But earlier there was a question of whether several repeaters could cause a problem with messages getting passed back and forth endlessly, and it was said that won't happen, but no one said "no, messages wouldn't get carried between two repeaters in the first place", so I think several repeaters in a row should work.

The definite answer is yes; both in RL and in Cantr. To the repeater, it's just radio waves that it sees coming in. The repeater has no way of knowing what those radio waves originated from. In RL the loop-back problem is solved by transmitting on a different frequency from the one to which it's listening. Frequencies only get re-used by repeaters that are too far apart to interfere with each other. In Cantr the problem has been solved by some clever electronic engineering.
