<CANTR CHARDESC> disappears from character description

I hope this isn't a duplicate. I read the list of known bugs and searched the whole forum, and the only reference I found to this problem was two years old.

When I initially enter a character name and put (<CANTR>) at the end, it works as expected. The character description displays correctly on the EVENTS, PEOPLE, and other pages. But when I go to the character page to edit the name, <CANTR> is gone, leaving just () at the end. I have to reenter <CANTR> every time.

There's even a problem with using the word C H A R D E S C (minus the spaces) here. Look at my first posting. Everywhere that you see <CANTR>, I entered it as <CANTR>.

Damn, it did it again. Apparently when I put C H A R D E S C -- with or without the spaces -- inside the enclosing <>, the forum software deletes it.

well, bug or not in game, this has always been an issue for me, ever since I can recall... if you edit, it needs to be put back in.. dunno why.. but it certainly isn't a new issue, just don't know if it has ever been brought up before.

If you put Anything inside <> on the forum, it destroys everything but the first word. Not so funny when you are trying to show code that includes "less than" and "greater than" statements.

Ohh... :? That explains why <a_href> </a> wouldn't work here.

Right, I didn't think about that. OK, here's a test. I'm entering < C A N T R C H A R D E S C > again, but this time I'm clicking the "Disable HTML in this post" box. Here goes:

<CANTR CHARDESC>

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Ha! If I'd just been thinking HTML the first time ... ~grin~

But I still don't have an answer on the issue in the game itself. Did I post this on the right board to be seen by someone in the programming department?
