Probably not a cantr problem

So, I updated Firefox cause it kept bothering me to and getting right to it, I use to be able to right click on the map image in location and copy it, mostly for map making. Now, when I right click over it, no little menu pops out from the arrow curser.

After a long time, I gave up and went to IE and seems its working fine there, but when I copy/paste from there, I get a green sort of screen instead of a black one for when I paste the image...the black/green area is just something that comes with the image that isn't part of what I need, so it gets thrown out once I use the image.

Anyways, I am wondering if anyone else has FireFox 3 and if they have this same problem, not being able to copy the map image. Also, if you know what might be my problem. I have found a way around it but its very annoying.

Clicking the link forced me to log in and then gave me a message that it doesn't exist which make me believe the thread might be in a part of the forum I'm not allowed to view.

It's in bug reports, which as far as I know is a public forum. If you try to go to a forum you don't have access to, you get a message that says the forum doesn't exist.

The link worked for me.

It worked for me and I was sent to this thread "Firefox 3 Beta 4 can't save map graphic." in the Bug Reports. If you can't get there through the link try searching for the topic in there.

Bug reports is not a public forum. As far as I know, it's a ProgD forum but RD can see it as well because RD can also see the ProgD forum.

Ihave the same problem with Firefox 3 and saving the map graphics.

As a workaround, you can screenshot the page and grab the map from the resulting image, or use a screen capture utility that allows you to click and drag out an area to screenshot (I use Wisdom-soft ScreenHunter free which allows this)

1) Right click on the page (not over the image) and select Page Info
2) Select the Media Tab and scroll down to the map image line
3) Click on Save As - You will need to enter the .png extension

Whilst several more steps you don't have to litter your pc with fully saved pages.

Thanks for pasting.

In the hopes of finding out the direct address to the map image, I stumbled onto this one, its okay but still if there are only work arounds and no solutions, I am probably going to just start using IE to do it. Thanks anyways.

This is a result of having the map graphic also being a button to change to the old square graphic type. Apparently someone filed a bug report and it got "fixed".
Having been effected by one of these small things once before, a couple years ago, I can't give much hope however, this is likely to stay broken for a long time.

I pretty much use the same method except instead of renaming the extension, I open the file with Firefox and right click the image and copy.
