floating descriptions not working?

I'm not 100% sure, but it seems that the floating JavaScript description boxes that pop up when you hover your mouse over a character's dynamic name aren't working properly.
I've set a few new descriptions for people I've just met, but when I hover over their names the box doesn't pop-up, but for some characters which are already set do work still.
It appears to me that characters whose descriptions were set/edited after a certain point of time are affected, while characters whose descriptions were set/edited before then are not.
Unfortunately, I can't remember who I've set descriptions for to test this out
