Can't Log In

The game won't let me log in, it just either never starts to log in or doesn't finish logging in.
Its been like this for about a day or so.

It worked for a couple of minutes but it's down again

As I still can't log in, is there a way of making my characters inactive so that they dont die?

You can go into vacation moede, if you can log in just once... but your chars can still starve. Is it possible for you to try at some other time of day, just to get them fed?

I haven't tried early morning (as in c8am) so I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow.
