Small Fire Pit on a boat

One of my characters, he owns a boat that has a small fire pit on it. Is this an error, or just a very old boat?

Oh, alright. If they need to know anything, it is the Kenton Voyager, inside the Zuzi Coastal Harbour.

Shhh! Just consider yourself lucky.
There are all sorts of nice things you can find that were built on old boats before the requirements changed.

I've seen a longboar with cabins and storageholds. It was pretty wierd.
