I applied for a staff position several months ago and have not yet recieved a reply. At this point I am just assuming I have been rejected, but it would still be nice to know so that I could apply for a different staff position.

If you have hotmail, it (almost always) goes to the junk mail box. I was really bugged at hotmail for doing this, because I missed out on what the message said.
Reapply..

What's about GMX? I've sent a application form about a month ago and haven't got a reply either. Normally I wouldn't complain yet (I still assume that the matter needs its time), but this is maybe a good moment to ask.

What's GMX? In my experience, they usually reply with a notification that they received your email... then after that they'll sort it out (that is the part that takes a while, not the notification)

Yeah, I applied for a position one month ago. I guess I should re-apply.

Woah three complaints, but you all use hotmail right???

No, not hotmail, GMX. It's another e-mail service. Virtually unknown outside Germany it seems.

And I can't remember getting a notification. I think I'll reapply too.

Maybe the system is screwed up.

Yes, GMX... my son's account is with them in the uUK.
I applied for a staff position a few days ago, got no acknowledgement either.
I've had problems with Cantr e-mail in the past... couldn't even get started in the game through the normal screen, had to contact PD directly.

But it would be nice if some staff member could tell how long to expect to wait, and whether acknowledgements are sent.

Applications via PerD have always been a long process, and somethings do slip through (I applied to transfer to RD before christams and haven't recieved anything - good thing I subsequently decided against it... :))

It doesn't do any harm to give them a few weeks, then politely ask for an update - but bear in mind everyone's busy doing this in their spare time, so things are not 100% efficient, and given that replies have to be got from a lot of poeple who aren't particulalrly always active, the process can be long...

And thanks for being nice about this... I remember someone, previously, decided to lay into PerD and the rest of the Cantr staff in a multi-page thread just because the reply to their application was a week late...

Thanks, HF :)

Firstly, grand apologies to anyone who is still waiting for any confirmation of application to the Staff.
As HF said, activity - or lack of - is an unfortunate by-product sometimes, and I’ve certainly been guilty of it in the first half of this year.
However, I promise to go through the entire PD application list and locate anything which has been missed.

Like Tiddy, cantr-mail is often a major pain in the rear for me also, so if anyone feels that they have been waiting an undue length of time for any application for staff, please feel free to contact Lisa or myself through the PM system on this forum.

I’ll go through the list of people who have spoken up here and try to get back to you over the weekend.
If anyone else has a query, then please don’t hesitate to shout in my general direction.

I'll have to take the majority of responsibility for the slow response to applications. We have just been through a lull in staff activity, and often I was uncomfortable with being the only one of maybe two staff commenting and making a decision on hiring. I agree that a response to the applicant explaining the delay was in order.

Hopefully there will be improvement in this area now that a few more of our staff members seem to be becoming active, however when the staff are not responding to applications, or when they are not available to train new staff, I'm afraid the process does get bogged down.
