My char is in open water but cannot sail north, or NNE. (haven't tried other northerly directions) . "Ship stops because it reached a coast."
But there is no coast *that* close.

No you have to be outside the location to change its signs so the Raker will have to be docked.

The coast is to the west, running almost north-south.
Trying to sail at 20deg ie, NNE, gave the error, "stops because reached coast".
Went at 90 deg for 1 tick and tried again at 20 with same result.
So, went dir 315 at half speed, (which came out at 48% although I'd input 50%,) OK for one tick.
Next I tried 15 deg at 48% speed and that seems OK after one tick.
Confused...

Maybe Pie's right. Seems to be going OK now, but I cannot understand why.

Still having trouble with this. After my manoeuvres above I went on OK for a while then again got the "reached a coast" message erroneously. Being fairly close to my destination I hopped into my little boat attached to the big one and made a trip ashore.
Returning to the mother ship started off again, and I'm sur I proceeded at 48% speed, (which figure had earlier appeared when I'd selected half speed.) Ship moved OK this last tick, but it now says I'm going 100%!
Thse ship, with two boats docked to it, may be overloaded and is it possible that the max speed possible is 48% of the absolute max, and that's what's causing the problems?

Can you PM me with the name of the big boat? Then I'll look into it
