Can someone explain to me the purpose of resting on furniture?

I see the stuff around the place occasionally, but I've never yet seen anyone use any furtinture for resting, and I can't see a page in the Wiki that explains what resting actually does for your character.

So does resting reduce your tiredness? Reduce your damage? Make your hunger increase more slowly? Reduce your drunkenness?

In RL, I'd say it does all of these things, but in Cantr, I don't know, and although the Wiki has Energy ratings for each furniture item, it doesn't tell me how this affects them.

It reduces your tiredness

As there is natural recovery from tiredness it only really comes into its own when tired after combat as other forms of tiredness are more than compensated by this natural recovery. This wasn't always the case , tiredness had much bigger impacts when it was first introduced

Hunting, working on projects, fighting , dragging live characters and illness all cause tiredness

It reduces tiredness. Once upon a time, tiredness ran rampant amongst Cantr, wreaking havoc on hard working, good people (and lazy, irresponsible people). They had to hurry to build furniture to rest upon, for fear of their lives and general health. Since then, the tiredness decided to have mercy on the people to an almost moot, non-existent point, choosing to only punish those of a violent nature. Thus, furniture is used for resting in the rarest of times, unless you're in a particularly violent society.

(I was not playing at the time; I'd quit for awhile just before, but heard enough about it from a friend that was playing.)

So in the Wiki, what does the Energy Rating on the resting furniture mean, and how do you determine how much tiredness is reduced per hour you rest ect...?

I seem to recall that:

(energy/100)=(% tiredness recovered per hour)

And this is beyond the natural recovery rate (5% per hour).
