Making wood while the axe shines

Postby psymann » Mon Oct 30, 2006 4:46 pm

I read from the game and wiki that:

Wood is gathered at a rate of:
300 gram per day without tools
375 gram per day with a stone cleaver
399 gram per day with a stone axe
450 gram per day with a steel battle axe
480 gram per day with a 3/4 axe
600 gram per day with an axe

I have a stone axe in my inventory, and I choose to get 399g wood. Why does it tell me, when I set up this project and participate in it, that the time this will take is 1.375 days, not 1 day?

Am I not using the axe correctly, or does the time just not update on the screen to take into account my axe, and I'll actually take only one day even though it says it'll take longer? Because I don't think it should take me 1.375 days to get the 399 wood :(

The time given for a project is an estimate based on the project without tools, it will be quicker with the use of tools.. and of course dependent on a characters skill.....

Ok, I hoped that's all it was...

So the time there is just the base time, and I have to do some sums to work out the actual time it would take based on my skill and my tools. Ok, a bit confusing for a newbie, but I guess I can get used to that.

Thanks,

Yeah it is the same as if you had 3 people working on a longboat. It would still say that it takes 15 days, but would be more like around 5 days.
Every action has a consequence.
