WAS Longboats and locks BUT is now Bone stuff

Postby rklenseth » Fri Dec 19, 2003 12:03 am

Alright, when since did longboats come with locks already on them. My character, Richard Connors/Weasf Hercva, built the boat The Hercva & Sawyer and it would appear that a lock is on it and Hercva has the key for it. I thought you had to build a lock for it. The boat has been built for awhile in Kirinn but another character just pointed that out to me. And if you automatically get a lock with the longboats shouldn't there be some iron required for the project.

Whoever is available, I guess. ;)

Seriously, you should of course choose someone who is familiar with defining objecttypes. ;)

Why not just feel happy about the freebie?
I was not intoxicated while I wrote this.

Because if I don't report it then it won't be fixed.

Well, I think Solfius will read this eventually anyways and I think he can change things. I think I can change things but I wouldn't want to screw anything up more than it already is. So I'll let Solfius do it (that way I can't be blamed  ).

So, I guess this isn't a programming error then?

Don't ask them if it's their fault, they obvously will say "no"

So you want 200g iron on the longboat requirements? I should be able to do that.

Couldn't you take away the lock instead? Because up to this point, the longboat was the only sea worthy ship that didn't need iron or steel or something else. Now if it needs iron the only boats we can build are row boats and canoes but I think they can only be put on a lake so far.

I don't know about taking away the lock. There was a couple long lines of code, and I don't know what to do with them. I guess you'd have to get a programmer to sort it then

God God, scrap this idea at once: I mean require Iron for a lock, but not to build the boat, What if your on an island in the middle of the Ocean with no Iron, and barely any other resources... that's just cruel and unusual punishment lol It just doesn't make sense anyway, you should be able to build the boat, seperate from the lock, just like everything else.

The longboat has been adjusted. If you do not want it stolen when you finish building it, just think about how you might solve that problem ... :)
