The only alternative I have to record information lately, is to put it in notepad- or keep having the character repeating it to themself every few days.

They're definitely working on it. A note that I wrote using Mortaine's recommended system now has "?" replacing the new-style apostrophe that I was able to make before. Bit confusing that, but at least there're signs that someone is trying to do something.

Edit: Bad news is that everything referring to the "Nossé" now refers to the "Noss?"...buildings, notes, eveything.

I didn't know anything about this and very nearly lost a looong diary entry. Maybe this could be mentioned above the character list until the problem is resolved?

I managed to deal with it by now by making a new note for 'part 2' or the diary, pasting the entry in Wordpad and changing all the apostrophes to quotation marks. They're similar enough that it's not too much of a distraction when reading.

I can't write any notes at all.

It'd kind of help my mute character to be able ot communicate.

Can someone on the Prog Dept. put a notice on the main page explaining the note bug to those who may not have time/access to the forum?

If the programming dept is reading this...

This seems likely due to the value of the php.ini setting of magic_quotes_gpc changing between the old box and the new.

If it was "on" on the old box, buf off in the new, then you're not escaping the input text any more, which would cause all sorts of SQL errors.

If it was "off" on the old box but on in the new, they you're likely double-escaping characters, which would also cause problems.

Ya, this appears to have done the trick. Thanks for the hint.
