Exactly the same for me.

This is happening to me again. I think it'd quit for a while.

I have one char with "whispers" checkmarked but is still lighting up. I've tried resaving the settings, unmarking it and saving then marking again and saving, but it still makes the char active when another whisper occurs. I don't know if that's happening with all chars because they either don't have this set or no whispers are happening around them.

Since I'm not online often enough to see this kind of stuff anymore, I can't say I've been noticing any problems. But based on what was described in previous posts, it sounds as if the settings in the activity filter (not the same thing as the event filters, btw) randomly reverses its polarity.
In plain English, checked boxes randomly start acting like unchecked options and unchecked boxes act like checked boxes.

Event filters don't control what lights up your character; they only set up individual filters for the event page (so, like, if you want to see all the recent events for your character minus all the whispering and dragging clutter).

Report it again next time it happens and then maybe ProgD can look into it.

I've had three characters not light up from completed projects in the last day, and I have never changed any of the activity filter settings. (And don't even know where to find them.)

Yes, there was a problem with events for finished projects not highlighting characters for a day or so. That bug has been fixed now though.
