Yeah right. It's really IC.

I'm currently trying to sail a bit up and further in the stream instead of back, and it seems to work out alright. Now it might be possible to get out. I'd rather not have the ship placed in another position unless absolutely necessary (e.g. the ship still staying stuck) so I'll report again in this topic later.

The coastline should follow the graphical representation on the map. If it doesn't, it's a bug. I've reported the issue to Jos, since he's the only one who can fix it.

Trust me on this one. It will give you more satisfaction to solve it by yourself instead of having ProgD acting as your nanny doing things others have done alone.

They've given you enough clues already. The reefs (or sandbanks) the inland stuff, etc.

This shouldn't be "fixed" since it's been the source of excellent rp for many of us.

Then the graphics should be extended to the actual coded coast.

I'm glad you had fun with it, but a few people having fun is not a valid excuse to allow bugs to remain unfixed.

It's on Jos' plate now, and it'll be his decision. I've made him aware of this thread.

That's a clue? Oh great, thanks, 'cause I didn't notice there were parts of actual water that couldn't be passed. And yes, I did have a lot of satisfaction knowing that my character could've been on the other half of the island already, having seen and interacted with many people, but instead was stuck there.

Okay, if the area can be traveled on by others then it's clearly an issue of selecting the right course and speed. Some areas are difficult to sail on because there might be invisible obstacles but if you managed to sail to some place then you can get out of there by reversing your steps. Wiro, maybe you should cut the sarcasm to avoid irritating people. If you sail near a coast or in a narrow strait then you're taking the risk of hitting the shore. If you aren't ready to take the risk then you don't go there in the first place.

Evelyn's comments here were totally inappropriate and have been removed, also topic locked because it was turning into a flame war. If somebody has a boat that's actually stuck after trying different directions and speeds then they can use the contact form to email support.

Jos checked into it, and concluded that the graphical coastline matches the actual coded coast. No changes will be made.
