Vehicle Parts

Postby Capt. Mobious » Tue May 24, 2005 11:00 pm

Can you make all vehicle parts in a building and then drag them outside to build the final vehicle? For instance: a motorcycle has wheels, engine and a frame. Can those be built inside and then carried outside by someone? Or does it plop to the ground as a fixed item like a loom or cot? There's no one "old" around me to ask where this particular character is. And I think this is something a Cantr person would automatically know, especially if they were building the item.

I think they're items that can be carried, like the 'semi-finished' bits of weapons.

I might be wrong though?...

But, yes, with something like a vehicle, it would be unfair to say you should make them to find out...

Thanks! I know I can carry a tire but haven't tried an engine or frame. And the engine was what I was most worried about. I wouldn't be able to carry one in real life without pulling a few muscles.

Wait!
Don't take my word! I've never built anything with an engine in it... I just remember seeing one get carried about - best wait for some kinda authority on the matter ;)...

I can answer this. Vehicle parts end up in your inventory, assuming you have enough room to carry them.

When the remainder of the vehicles are split into parts, I will make an announcement for all to know how to create vehicles. Having you all experiment would just ask for trouble ;) But it's mostly the same as it is now, for the motorcycles. You can create them indoors, or outdoors, and carry them around as an object.

At least a frame can be carried because one was taken from a spawn and run thief. Even if they can be carried, couldn't they weight a bit more?

If it was a spawn and run thief he was probably not carrying much else.

That would obviously be a bike frame.

Try carrying the frame to a bus. Really. I'd like to see you try.
