You step off the boat. "Hello, I have journeyed far and wide. Does anyone have some food for a starving sailor?"

A man in his twenties says, "Was ist das wansig Mondsprache!"

You blink, confused.

Actually, several of the smaller language areas have already met, and conversations like this aren't unusual...

Not only that, but there has been at least one visit to EnglishLand by another language character.

Yeah, happens all the time, my dutch characters have met German, french and english.

Although my desire to explore is over because a character sailed for years and finally discoverd new land only to find it was an unfinished island with no place to dock. Now there is nothing left to do except to sail back again. 10 years lost for nothing.

not exactly a rewarding experience...

Oh, sure. You don't even have to sail-- some of them are on the same island. There's a vocabulary list somewhere in the French area to help translate between the French and Dutch speakers.

I think other language groups must have come to the English islands. My very first character was kidnapped and dragged aboard a ship with a French name. There was a note that said, in French, this ship belongs to so-and-so. That character is now afraid to go aboard boats for fear of being kidnapped again.

I have seen lists like that also in the Dutch area. And there is this German character David Crow who is travelling through the Dutch area starting to learn a few Dutch words. :-)

Just an update...

After starting this post I created two new characters and both of them ended up on the Super Island.

I decided to create a French character and am praying that people understand me over there!

Thanks for the suggestions.
