Sparring, gets through shield but does no damage?

Usually when my characters spar, it clearly states if it hits the shield or not, however, on one of mine, the attack was not blocked, meaning there was no, you protected so and so damage with your (type) shield, yet no damage was done. Is it a bug or something?

I think it rounds, just like some "zero calorie" or "zero carb" foods aren't required to round up if they have less than 0.5g or cal or whatever.

or something. For some reason (probably not a bug, some other reason) the attack was too weak to damage a target that strong. Possibilities include the attack not being 100% forceful, the attacker not being at their strongest (tired, hurt, drunk if this isn't a fist fight), the attacker not being very strong/skilled/either to being with, or the target just being very strong/skilled/both.

Also what Snickie said, the damage was just low enough to round to 0, therefor not worth mentioning.

Damage is weapon factor plus strength modifier. The weapon factor of a waster is zero, i think. The strength modifier is negative if your strength is below average (i think). So total damage can be less than zero (which will of course become zero).

It's also possible the person you were attacking had healing food sitting in their stomach, which would have been automatically consumed and would heal them instantly if they took damage. (I believe that's how it worked, unless something changed recently.)

Edit: Ah, scratch that. It was your character that was hit.
