When do Outbox Messages get Sent?

Topic. Two of my PMs have been hanging out there for like, an hour or more. What determines when they actually get sent?

I believe it's not a case of them not being sent, more that they haven't been read yet. Give the recipients a chance to find them and they should move out of there

Can't confirm it, but my observations lead me to the same conclusion (Making my statement act as evidence that the theory is true, but not proof)

I've had one hang in the folder forever because the player quit and never checked the forums after quitting. I still leave it there on the off chance that they'll come back one day.

PM's on the forum are instant (as in the recipient sees them in the inbox the next time he/she reloads the page). They are bold in the outbox until the recipient has read them.
