ask for general rules on room description
El vino viene cantando desde la tierra,
baja del cerro hecho agua,
y en una raíz se queda,
y sube por una camino que se llama enredadera,
parra, parrón, vid, mil hojas, verde sombra o como quieras.

Re: ask for general rules on room description
My opinion regarding that:
Windows - for few days until they'll be as object in the game: yes, then better not without building it. ;]
steps or stairs - yes (especially when you have extension like "2nd floor")
handrail - yes (more architecture than object)
columns and pillars - yes (architecture)
skylights or holes in the ceiling - yes (architecture)
mirrors - no (more objects than architecture)
Concerning furniture small changes can be.
a heart-shaped bed - yes, because it's detail of the object's appearance I think.
describe a wooden shelf as a shop window - well, if wooden shelf is actually used as a shop window then it's describing its use, not appearance.
Shelf doesn't need glass to make, so description can't suggest that.
It's relatively new feature so I think it'll take some time to create specific rules about what is and what isn't allowed. Better be careful with that

I already made "stone stairway" in a room with a inner room called "Basement". This should be fine.
And I don't think marble columns should be inside a wooden shack. Stick to what the building is made from.

Re: ask for general rules on room description
I would like to ask for a few more details about Building descriptions. Will other characters be able to see the description or will just your character see what's inside. What can you get away with when describing the details of what's inside a room. Could one say that a room extension is actually an elevator that sends people from one (floor) of a building to another? Can one describe a fur rug as a rug made of the rare Clouded leopard? Just need a little more information as to what I can get away with here.
-Thanks!

Re: ask for general rules on room description
You need to be inside the room to see the description, and everyone can see them.
Characters would not be automagically transported or forced to do anything, so the extension can not be an elevator. Plus there is no known technology in chantr to mimic what an elevator does.
If your location, or another location where characters from the town has hunted, has the animal type clouded lopard, it is fine to use it in the description.
