If I use Chrome, and I haven't for a iong time for Cantr, I would say I get it rarely. If i use Safari, it happens occasionally, but if I use firefox (this is a recent thing for me, and only because I was looking at some of the grease monkey stuff) it happens a LOT, and I mean a lot.
If it helps, I can use firefox, and let the errors run, if someone does want to try and track it?
Like I say, it doesn't really interrupt the game at all, and just flips me back to the character page, but I do then have to check if what my char said has actually been posted.
I wouldn't say it happened with any specific action (hitting, doing etc) more than others.
I imagine that, if I had access to view another char, it would happen exactly like Doug R says it does to him.

I doubt it.

I have two characters that gets the error after naming (or describing) characters half the time. Some characters never have this problem. I wish the error was consistent. It would have been much easier nailing it down then.

All I could guess is that it's happening when another event or rename is happening at the exact same moment. Possibly linked to someone joining a project at exactly the same moment, in the same location.
That's my best guess. I'm far from knowledgeable though. I'd love to see someone try to sync THAT to test it.

I think it's too common for this to be the case. I doubt you have concurrent activities happening so often.

Re: "ERROR: You are not allowed to view events of other players!
I believe when the error occurs during naming characters, it's related to the refresh of events on the character's page. It never fails to happen to me if I am naming a character and hit enter right when the refresh happens. I don't think I have the problem when I have the auto-refresh disabled (or have been extremely lucky; I'd have to test it again though). Perhaps it's a bad observation, but seems to be the only thing I could figure out on my own as relating to the problem.
I'm not sure what might cause the issue when you send a post. I figured it might be related to the same thing. I've seen this happen a lot, but I am not sure it's related to browsers or computers necessarily. At least, I access the game from several different computers and browsers/browser versions and get the error about an equal amount of time for posts and other actions.
I get the error with naming more than anything though.

Doesn't the event-refresh happen every five seconds from the point at which it started, which would be whenever it was that you loaded the page? I don't see why it has to do with naming.
The fact that it happens with some browsers and not others probably has something to do with an incompatibility between the code of the action and that of the browser itself, or some process with the browser (how many things on your top bar are you running?). But it doesn't explain why IE works with all the crap they tack onto the top bar (or at least, for me).
Just a thought. I'm not a computer genius, so I could be completely wrong. I'm just trying to look at all points.

I concur with hermi - the problem stops when you turn event refresh off.

Yeah, I think it has to be the refresh. I'm fairly certain the error never happened before that feature was added. I used to try to time things so that I wasn't trying to post or name someone during the refresh.

I think the site has AI... It's getting bored with giving me the error over and over... Now I simply get "ERROR: You"... Figures.
