Ok, probably an old question...
One of my chracters started to use a smelting furnace to make some steel, and used all of the raw materials required. Then realised that he needed bellows (ok, should have looked closer before...)
If the project is abandoned, do the raw materials used go back to the inventory, on the floor, or do they dissappear?
What happens to materials when project is abandoned?

The materials added, will remain on the project and you can not get them back. Once you added materials to a project it can't be removed anymore.
Only finishing the project would make the project disappear and the materials change into a machine.

This probably slightly contravenes the 4 day rule...
It shouldn't be a problem. It might help my charcter, those that control steel production might just take notice of him... If nothing happens and people start complaining that they need the furnace, I'll let you know, cheers...
