Stone hammer vs. hammer, Bone needle vs. Needle etc.

Postby formerly known as hf » Fri Aug 06, 2004 2:31 pm

I've been playing CANTR for about a month now. Two of my characters have made stone hammers, and another a bone needle. I was wondering if there was any difference at all in using these as opposed to the same tools made from rarer materials?

There are differences in some senses, but there aren't in others.

When you're manufacturing something that requires a "hammer", a Stone Hammer or normal Hammer will suffice. Or, if you're making something that needs a needle, a Bone Needle or normal Needle will work.

However, when you're harvesting resources, the different tools will yield different amounts. An example, a Bone Knife will get you less tomatos then a normal metalic Knife.

Except the first aspect to change, eventually. Sooner or later, it may occour that using a different tool will slow down project progress (But will still work. Ie: That project that requires a hammer will still be able to be worked on with both types of hammers, however, the Stone Hammer will cause the project to develop slower than a metalic Hammer)
