Stranded without fuel?

One of my characters recently acquired his first vehicle, and without much knowledge of their mechanics, set off to a nearby town to trade, before heading home (two towns away). I made it to the first town just fine, but roughly halfway between that town and home, ran out of fuel.

I now appear to be stuck, no fuel, no way to get out of the vehicle, no radio to call for help.... is there anything I can do in this situation, or is my character doomed to starve to death on his motorbike halfway between towns?

Vehicles are capable of moving even without fuel, it just happens very slowly.

The bike will slowly move to the next town. If your character isn't already starving he should be alive but frustrated.
