If you're an awkward fighter, you're always novice when you attack yourself. I believe this was done to make suicide possible for awkward fighters.

That's odd. I've attacked myself before and it's never done this until now.

It has been like that for at least 3 RL years so either you've never done it with an awkward character, always missed, didn't have a shield, the shield was ineffective or didn't pay attention to the difference.

That was it, I think. All the other times I either missed or got through the shield.
And the times I got through the shield I don't have turn reports for because it was still early in my playing days.

I just saw this today. Wow. I feel incredibly intelligent and observant. Especially since I used to stalk that page to no end. :roll:
