Apparently when signing up as *NAME you can easily get tons of posts.
Simply sign up as *ETC and you'll get all posts of Seko added to your post count.

Two posts by *ono and one by Simono.

Just a forum bug. Could be fixed by not allowing *'s in names. (While it's being fixed, perhaps you could change my name to Wiro, then? I hate the * ._.)

EDIT: Seems I was wrong. It doesn't add the posts to your post count. It does show all posts on the "Show more posts of user" thing.

Funny situation.

The forum is run on standard PhpBB software. It is open source, but it is not advisable to change the code ourselves unless there is a really good reason (we would get in trouble when installing updates). The best way to act on this kind of issues is to go to the PhpBB site and notify the PhpBB development team.

By the way, the Cantr forum runs on an old version of PhpBB, a version that probably will not be maintained any more. But the PhpBB team will be very grateful for your bug report.

Edit: a wildcard * in the search name might be just as it is meant to be, not a bug at all.
I think ...

Unlike other forums, this one doesn't search on the actual member, but just the member's name. And that's the bug with the forum.

But by using a wildcard and an asterisk on the "Not allowed symbols in name" list this could be fixed.

And I think this bug is allready fixed in a future version of PhpBB. It's not that uncommon to have an asterisk at the start of a name.

And PhpBB sucks, SMF ftw. :P

It seems to accept a string with wildcards only if a member of that name exists, and then anything matching the wildcard is found. So, it is a bug, and the forum software should be updated.
