I don't exactly know how it happened (it might be my computer) but I can duplicate items. Its happened a few times.
EX:
I drop 10g of wood.
I drop 10g of wood.
(I had 10g of wood to begin with!)
I've done it a few times, anyway, only recently I noticed the things multiply. It went from 15000g to 30000g! I checked and it was me.
You might want to look into this fast since now my character will be forever trying to do this.

Of course he's not doing it on purpose. He wouldn't be reporting it if he wanted to abuse the bug. His character might be looking for an ingame explanation (magic) for this phenomenon, just like when corpses are seen duplicating ("the animal attack split it in half!") but I don't think he could do more to duplicate it than to drop a resource and see if it happens again. You could ask him not to drop anything until the issue is solved but I doubt it has anything to do with just that particular character, it must be a bug that could happen to anybody.

He's reporting the bug, but his character's exploiting it. This is a clear case of where the player needs to exert OOC control over his character out of responsibility and courtesy to the staff and other players.

They're simply telling him to not let his character keep doing it because it is breaking the rules even if he's just playing the character as it normally would react. If he said his character would do it still until it was fixed, it seems that he is not aware of that rule, and now he can be aware of it and avoid ever getting in trouble for it unintentionally.
This is not a discussion forum, so let's stop debating or criticizing. It is great that he reported it, and great that he learned some more of the gray areas that are in the realm of the CR.

Its happened in several of my characters by accident, I didn't think the items just duplicated, just some bug on the event page. My characters don't know anytihng about the rule, and I am just playing as how he would react... (though I'll try to not let him duplicate it, but it might be happening randomly so I can't guarantee it)
My character still won't just forget it. But I'll probably try to RP instead of dropping the item through game mechanics.
