I generally agree with Seko.
The advisable course of action is to notify the PD in advance so they can monitor the situation (which you have essentially done here). If you are a good role-player and have the ability to shield your characters from bias, you should be able to play both of your characters during such an encounter, but I would avoid having them awake at similar times.
Things to avoid:
1 - avoid the temptation to give your town leader precognitive powers, even if it's something as seemingly little as "Hmm, I think I'm going to go inside this locked building to take a nap."
2 - avoid the temptation to use your town leader's knowledge to your pirate's advantage. Let the others in your crew lead the way.
If things get hairy and you think you can't handle it, fall asleep. If it were me, I'd favor my town leader over my pirate, since the pirate has others to rely on, while the townsfolk would be relying on me for their protection. Just my personal choice.
It wouldn't be against the CR to tell your fellow pirates that you might be sleepy during the raid. This gives them a heads-up so they won't be cursing you when you fall asleep at exactly the wrong time (for them).
Oh, and being an ex-PD member and also an ex-player, if you wanted some more in-depth advice specificly regarding your situation as it's unfolding, feel free to PM me. Since I have no characters, I have nothing at stake in the outcome of this.
