Manufacturing tools, and space/weight concerns

Postby nateflory » Fri Aug 25, 2006 3:49 am

I'm wondering if objects being manufactured take up space/weight in a building or vehicle?

I've got a number of things I want to build, and travel, but not much space. (killing a rabbit sometimes makes me too heavy, even when I drop everythnig except my shield/weapon/hammer.)

What I'd like to do is bring the materials for making...let's just give an example of 3 shields...and set them up inside to work on while travelling. However, I don't want to setup the manufacturing, then exit to get the next couple of grams for the next shield, and find I can no longer enter the vehicle/building.

This could possibly be considered a CRB, but I was hoping some kind soul could prevent any in-game panic if I would be effectively locking everyone out of something, by doing this.

I know that repair projects that push you "overweight" will do a similar sort of locking out if you leave and can no longer enter, but was not sure about manufacturing itself...

Ideally, I'd like to setup a mobile workshop, and queue up around 20 iron shield-type projects, as well as ferrying other resources in the leftover storage. However, also fear this might bring an accusation of "exploiting". I will await an answer from "Those-Who-Know" before proceeding.
Thanks in advance.

Currently, projects have no weight. That said, the plans are to have projects have weight equal to the added resources, and I believe that the ProgD are well on their way on this matter.

ok, thanks!
My main concern was getting locked out, so I'll avoid pushing hte limits so tightly. 8)
