Help I have been sailing for years.
I was travelling in the oposite direction finding out there is no where to go. I turned around to the opposite direction and now I am lost Can someone in the charactor department area zoom out and tell me which direction I need to go to the closest island. Thanks. I have almost given up on this charactor. Also there should be a zoom out option or a navigator so you can see which island is the closest in the sea.

The suggestion is a good one though, visibility at sea is much better (weather depending) than it would be on land....
A boat could, in maritime terms, almost ground itself and the character wouldn't even see land...

No it solves nothing, why would a complicated item, which would take lots of effort be needed... we're not talking GPS just being able to see a little further from a boat...
A mariner can see the stars and the horizon... and may not need any more!

to the appropriate thread - There are plenty of places in the suggestion forum to debate visible distances at sea.
Though I will add the visible map is more like the real distances you can see at sea - if anything we should reduce the size of the map when on land.
