Making live easier in Esperantujo

Postby Piscator » Sun Sep 17, 2006 7:15 pm

Excuse the use of English, but it would be pointless to use Esperanto in this case. :wink:

Here are some basic tips for beginners (as I am, too, by the way):

1. Get yourself a dictionary. Links can be found at wikipedia, or just google for it.

2. There is no difference between ĝi, ghi and gxi. They are merely typing variants.

3. If you don´t understand a phrase just ask ( I´ll have to do it pretty often myself I guess )

Please ask if there are further questions.

Some good dictionaries / translators:

http://lingvo.org/traduku/

http://en.lernu.net/ ('La Vortaro', on the right) or just use:
http://en.lernu.net/cgi-bin/vortaro.pl

A good tool:

http://www.esperanto.mv.ru/Ek/index.html 'Ek' sits on your toolbar and automatically changes things like 'gx' and 'gh' to 'ĝ'. It's easily swiched on or off. Unfortunately, the website and download dialogues are all in Esperanto, but they're easy enough to figure out. (If you don't know what settings to use, just try the default and see if it works!)

By the way, I'm also available for asking... questions...to... :wink:

When my Esperanto becomes a little less ..erm... bad... I intend to create a character or two. Thanks for the links, they'll doubtless come in handy. Sadly, I can't use that spiffy-looking toolbar thinger ; ;

And take the "Kurso de Esperanto" if you haven't already. It really helps a lot. :D

:lol:
