I usded to understand Swedish tho, I've been to Sweden a lot when I was a sailor. But somehow, reading it seems harder, usually it's the other way around. Like Danish, impossible to understand, easy to read.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi.
Besides, we "non English speaking" ppl are not blessed (Cursed?) with such a lively forum. So, here's a new thread. No need to applause.

Don't lie... It was the most terrible joke I've ever heard.
The only joke I've ever heard about Swedes tho.

Yeah, we Swedes are able to dodge most jokes since our neighbours the Norweigans are such perfect targets

The languages are not that different
I once had two dutch students staying with me for a week. I learnt to understand some dutch in only a few days. Not enough to speek it but to understand what they were talking about even if I didn't understand everything.

Do you think it's OK to play a char in the Swedish area if you don't speak Swedish, but you can speak Danish?

Sure, as long as you try. Just RP a retard.
Being a good RPer is important tho, otherwise U'd spoil the fun in that area.

Wasn't meant as a joke really, and after re-reading my post, I sure as hell didn't mean to be offensive by saying Danes just have to play a retard. :
Any rivalry going on B-tween Danes and Swedes? Or just the Norwegian.

Sweden has quite a lot of rivalry with all neighbours, but is usually not on a very serious level.
I guess it comes from all the wars between us in the past...Sweden occupied both Norway and Finland for quite a long time, Denmark ruled Sweden for a while and even today the region called Skåne in southern Sweden was once Danish territory.
Oh...and we have a big nuclear plant right on their border...something the Danes are not that thrilled about
But your retard comment hit the spot, since a common Swedish insult to a Dane is that it sounds like they speak with porridge in their mouths

Hmm, I just got C in matriculation exam of Swedish. (The scale goes Laudatur=excellent, Eximia, Magna, Cum laude, luBenter approbatur, Approbatur, Iimprobatur=failed). So middle level. Still I have to use dictionary all the time, since I have one Swedish character (Sven Tufva). But after he left Sserperia, he has encountered only sleepers and has been talking to himself some kind of mix up language.
