Hello there, frend.
this is a MAJOR change in cantr.
Now, as I see it, cantr is a BIG world. IN the real world, if you had a longboat, it would take...say.....(1....2....3...)3 years of hard traveling to get to the other side of the world, right? Well, one of my caracters is at a place that is 10 YEARS hard traveling on a longboat frome the nearist english island. Now, this is a major problem in cantr, for I beleav it isolates parts of cantr.
Also, irl, If you can see the place you are going to, it only takes(this is if nothing is obstructing your view) maby 3-5 hours to get there, if you are following a road, yet in cantr, (I think it takes day or so in cantr, an if it dosent.... than forget this thing right here)
Now, i'm not very sure, but a gallion is faster than a longboat, And it may be fast enough to remidy this problem in slownes of traveling, as cars migtht, but we need to make traveling available to the poor people. So what i suggest is a new balancing of the games time.(I know, It's worse than the cantropilix(apocalyps, but in cantr)) And i suggest is, faster traveling, longer lives of caracters. now, longer lives of caracters is optional, but it is still negotiable. So, if you choos to accept this topic, in thery, this will decreas isolation, move trade faster, find new lands faster, increas conections between towns, and also increas the liklyeness that a frend may pop in for dinner.... or somthing, all becous people can get around easyer.(Waits for the aplaus, and sets up the anti flame guns....)

In the real world, if you had a long boat, you would die before you reached the other side of the world. Either from exhaustion from rowing so much or from exposure to the elements.
As for character lives, they can already live for nearly 4 RL years, just how much longer do you need?
Faster travelling, I don't know. Cantr is supposed to be a slow game by design, so it can be played along with other commitments. Someone else can think of the consequences of faster travelling, although I personally am happy with the current speeds.

A longboat is just an oared boat carried by a larger one - typically 3 or 4 rowing benches and maybe a single mast - some were a little larger but typically would have no cabins or holds.
See Long Boat for some pictures of real longboats
There you go!

I may not know much about boats, but to me I find that suicide to drive a long boat to sea with a size like that.
Though we do have much imagination ourselves, we really should see what we're actually about to build (as in see what it's about to look like) so that we can well imagine the results of it's use.

Notice how weak and petty we are / In the grand fixture we come afar / Hey we can't help it / No denying the prerequisite for love / Your very existence / You're the source of my substenance / Slow down take your time and feel the / Flow

I second the motion. Kinda like clothes, we need a description. At least a size estimate, if nothing else , Example:
Sloop: It is a long vessel with a single mast, a mainsail, and a jib. It is about 50' long from bow to stern and 10' wide at the beam.
Something like that.
Edit: And also, if you build a cabin or cargo hold on board, that should show up in the description.
All of my endings are waiting to begin.
